Ondula Coffee Table
Ondula Coffee Table was designed from a corrugated metal sheet, an industrial element commonly used for roof coverings. The idea of using a corrugated metal sheet and exploring this materials potential for interiors and furnishings was born during the construction phase of a wine bar in London, where two corrugated sheets randomly found in the backyard of a building were recovered and used as vertical cladding for the bathroom. Playing around with the bending of the corrugated sheet, this brutal, but harmonious and delicate element became an object of research for Flatwig Studio.
With the aim of adding value to the aesthetic properties of this industrial material, Flatwig Studio curves the metal sheet with a simple gesture allowing it to become the basis of this coffee table. The corrugated metal sheet is the main vertical element of the coffee table and acts as the main support for the wide top defining its curve. Minimal lines give life to a piece of furniture where the light and dark created by the waves of the surface contrast with the linearity and the sharpness of the table top.
